I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
