Colts Face Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Guten tag, fussball enthusiasts. How are you? Alles klar I trust on this fine early start to the tenth week coming directly from Deutschland. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the mighty Colts (7-2) face off against the Falcons (3-5). This marks the fifth matchup played on German soil and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pre-match Highlights

When it comes to glittering attire that is an real standout from the Olympic figure skater on the coin toss. A minor slip from Sky Sports there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an unfortunately hot mic.

So, the Colts have won the toss and have elected to receive. Daniel Jones and company will be taking the field soon. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in their last game?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the Star Spangled Banner has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. We are almost underway after a choral number for the German anthem. Elegant.

Opening Period Action

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

And we're off! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the recovery. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the excitement continues as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The gamble fails to pay off as the wide receiver cannot reel in a quick pass from the quarterback. On the play before the turnover on downs Jessie Bates put a huge hit on the Colts' tight end. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they attempt to end their string of three losses. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!

Touchdown Updates

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only gets worse for the Falcons as they turn over possession to the Colts on the 23-yard line. Michael Penix Jr is hunted down and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to roll in for the score on the next snap. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Mistake.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the defense opens up for Tyler Allgeier to run untouched into the end zone through the middle of the defense for 13 yards. The running back finishes it off for a short scoring run of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Additional Week 10 Matchups

Additionally, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (home teams listed first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Houston Texans v Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) Jets v Cleveland Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. My pick for the best game is the Vikings and Ravens playing out the top contest of the day.
