Chalobah Poised to Step in for Guehi in Three Lions Selection
The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the 21st duo of siblings to earn caps for the England side.
The Chelsea defender is expected to link up with the Three Lions selection to replace injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is set to meet up with the team for England's final World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, although it has still not been officially announced.
The national side have already qualified for the upcoming competition.
Chalobah earned his first selection under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against Senegal.
In September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unfortunate to be omitted from the team for qualifiers against Serbia and Andorra, and also omitted him for the next October international break.
Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's career, having given him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.
Chalobah has featured in nearly all games for Chelsea this season, with the side in third place in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the league phase of the Champions League.
Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over the Dutch side last week.
There are set to be additional call-ups to the squad. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will be unavailable from the squad.
